Description
First I am not a Painter….apologies for the flaws!!I am just trying to learn….critiques and comments are welcome.
Needless to say that I have a lot of trouble judging the colors and hues, because colors look so different in my monitors.
You see people of all kind of colors in my country….My own family is a mix of colors…..My father was really white….my mother was beautiful and tan…..My maternal grandfather was very very tan……My wife is white….my dear son Eremita and I are tan..
In my country there is not a hard discrimination of people because of colors….but some people, sometimes, regards being white and blue eyes as a sign of distinction and superiority….
Comunications also has made some people think that being blond is more beautiful….so you see many brunettes with their hairs turned artifitially blond….I like all of them….all colors… but I really would like to remember to them and to myself that “TAN IS ALSO BEAUTIFUL”.
The photos are mine…..and you can see is not a “paint over”
I am also posting the “steps”

You arent a painter?!?! Well this is bloody brilliant for a non painter.
Disclaimer* That was just a joke about the blondes. Of course if you are brunette you'd have guessed that, but this disclaimer is just for the less intelligent blondes, so they know I am joking.
I AM ONLY JOKING about the disclaimer! God I could go on forever here hahahaha

This is (and I am not a painter so this comes from my heart...)
really a beautiful portrait.
I really enjoy the steps addition and the reference pictures too.
A very good work!
I just can't understand how you get the time for doing the painting, taking pictures and for commenting on 99,9% of all posts as well...
Your wife must have a lot of patience with you...

I impress the way u do it with mouse.
I just take care about black, a little softer.

I'd like to say that it is beautifully painted, full of life--particularly in the eyes--and and overall magnificent portrait...but then I'd sound like everyone else, and we can't have that...so instead...
Carlos, this is the worst painting I've ever seen. Seriously, it hurts my eyeballs.

I love the painting but what you need to improve on is the ability to convey the correct sex and age. What I mean is, when I looked at this painting, I thought it was a middle age woman. It's only after I saw the reference photograph that I noticed that it was a young boy. Don't get me wrong the expression is OK, but the sex and age may be slightly confusing. That's what you need to work on.

The amateur mistakes are mostly visible in the skin areas where colorshifts are subtile and in the hair. The eyes are amazingly alive.
If you enjoy it, please keep it going.

It does not look like a finished painting and the style is a bit stiff. I am very impressed that you do painting as well as amazing photography ! keep up the good work.
