Description

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUCHITOTO…..150 YEARS!
Suchitoto, nahuatl for “Place of birds and flowers”.

El Salvador is a young nation….America was “discovered” in 1492. After the conquest most of the natives were “encomendados” (Surrendered to ) to the Spaniards, that implied that the natives had to pay taxes and work for their owner.
In 1548 Suchitoto was an “encomienda” of only 60 native survivors.

During the XVII century Suchitoto was an important center of the cultivation of “añil” (Indigo), a natural dye, and it was the largest source of income of the country. In July 1897 synthetic indigo was developed and within a short time, completely supplanted natural indigo, and today nearly all indigo produced is synthetic....That implied an economical crisis for the country and turned to grow cofee for exportation. Let us pray nobody will discover synthetic cofee!.

If you want to know the color of “añil” look at your jeans. You can still buy clothes in Suchitoto died with natural “añil”....they are beautiful and its popularity is growing again.

In 1821 El Salvador was declared independent...In July 15, 1858 Suchitoto received the title of “city” so is turning 150 years old. (I prefer to think is just a wonderful magic little town.)

The family of my father descends from Spaniards of Suchitoto......that is probably why I love so much this place.

This picture is dedicated to my dear Clara Elite, GFXartist sponsor ClaraSoto , we started to visit Suchitoto with her 15 years ago…..Love you Clara!!!

Great atmosphere and composition!

A long way and hard editing work to get ride of all those wires and more... :p

I'd desaturate/darken the black section from the roof of the building (above the white wall). It now shows a tiny blue:ish tint (same in original).

Great job Carlos both in Photoshop and by capturing this wonderful moment. ;)

Don't walk to close to the horse. It can be dangerous... :p

I can only dream that one day I have one photo resembling this one! And the amount of wires removed! Wow! Wow Wow!
Very cool work with Shadows and highlights!
Liked the B&W version! But I prefer this one!

The BW I missed at first... That one is a perfect 10 and the stronger out of the 2 versions imho. Fantastic maestro! (thumbup)

Edit: You could select that previously mentioned section with for example the magic wand selection tool and then simply desaturate it... :o

Brilliant composition Master :) !!
So perfect placement of the subject... How did u manage it in such action filled shots.. !! Great timing.. !!
The post work, there is some glow on the line seperating the sky & rider.. (Perhaps a brush stroke too much or less...) That can be perfected, in a other wise perfect shot :) !!!
Top Marks as ever Carlos !!

The capture is superb, though there were obviously a lot of wires to remove from the shot. The central horse is amazing - the suppleness of muscles and athleticism are brought to life so well - thanks for sharing!

Wow!! The detail in the horse's mane and the vascularity of it's shoulder and leg are amazing.
In an action capture like this, I would only remove / edit the minimum of aesthetically displeasing elements. It looks like the changes you made were positive, I'm always glad when little characters are left in on the periphery of the image for us to discover (like smiling men).
Thank you, Carlos.
